Not just Fairytales and Spiderwebs here new song from We Are Overlap the band

Fairytales and Spiderwebs

This song is about a person arguing with themselves.

Spinning in a web.

There is no web.

Thinking there is a thinker separate from the thought. That there is more than one thought. A spider web from which they cannot escape with the web itself. One cannot escape the possession of thought with thought. This is the ultimate problem of humanity. Thought cannot end thought, and as it tries it becomes more entangled in the web of itself.

You stole my soul so many years ago

It was in a song

The one you sang just for me

I read your diary of fairytales and spiderwebs

Lost in the light

Feeling weighed down from the moths trying to rest

Your song in my chest

It’s never the best

I just need to rest away

In the dark of the night

In the dark and the fright

Hanging from the stars and spiderwebs

I’m tangled up in my mind

Of what I can find

Spiderwebs of yesterday and tomorrow

It was only yesterday when I heard your name

Lost in your song so many years before

Now behind closed doors

Never to be opened by the hands of children

That understand the locks and keys

That lift the shadows from beneath the blankets

(Hanging from the stars and spiderwebs)

That live in fear which is always near

Just beyond the witness of the whispers

(Hanging from the stars and spiderwebs)

You stole my soul so many years ago

It was in a song

The one you sang just for me

I read your diary of fairytales and spiderwebs

Lost in the light

Feeling weighed down from the moths trying to rest

Your song in my chest

It’s never the best

I just need to rest away

In the dark of the night

In the dark and the fright

Hanging from the stars and spiderwebs

Hanging from the stars and spiderwebs
